For Alfredo Rodriguez, painting was as much a part of his childhood development as learning to walk and speak. Some of his earliest memories are of illustrating classroom assignments, drawing portraits of family members, receiving a set of watercolors at the age of six. Born and raised in Mexico, Alfredo used his income from the artwork to help his family of nine children. He now lives in California and continues to paint extremely rich and vivid images of mountains, deserts, Indian life and so much more. His paintings are on display in many fine galleries throughout the United States. He was honored at the Favell Museum of Western Art in Klamath Falls, Oregon as Artist of the Year in 1991 as well as winning top awards from many of the most prestigious art shows. He has been the featured artist in Art of the West, Western Horseman, InformArt, International Fine Art Collectors and more. His many collectors include Gene Autry, Connie Stevens, the Leanin’ Tree Museum. The following three Indian chiefs are oil paintings on velvet. Each portrait depicts the Indian in vivid colors with great expression which is an example of the gift of this outstanding artist. A painting by Alfredo Rodriguez would be a great addition to your collection!!
